Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage that Edinburgh Peptides (a trading name of Edinburgh Research Ltd) uses, and how you can control the optional ones. Page analytics on this site do not use cookies.

1. Essential cookies and storage

These are required for the site to work — running your basket, checkout, the age and research-use confirmation, and staff sign-in. They are not used for advertising or tracking, and they do not need consent.

NameTypeDurationPurpose
erl-cookie-consentCookie6 monthsRemembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we do not ask on every visit.
erl-age-confirmedlocalStorageUntil browser data is clearedRecords that you confirmed you are 18 or over and that products are for laboratory research use only.
erl-launch-offerlocalStorageUntil browser data is clearedRemembers whether you claimed or dismissed the launch discount offer, so we do not show it on every visit.
erl-cart-v3localStorageUntil browser data is clearedKeeps your basket contents and any discount code between visits.
erl-checkout-idempotencysessionStorageUntil the tab is closedPrevents the same checkout submission creating a duplicate order.
erl-site-accessCookie14 daysOnly used if the site is in pre-launch holding mode, to remember early access. HttpOnly.
erl-admin-sessionCookieSession-limitedStaff sign-in for the admin area. Never set for customers. HttpOnly.

2. Optional cookies — Trustpilot

With your consent, we load review widgets from Trustpilot A/S. Trustpilot's code runs from their own servers and may set its own cookies and similar storage; the names and lifetimes are controlled by Trustpilot and described in Trustpilot's privacy terms. If you have not accepted optional cookies, no Trustpilot code loads and we show a plain link to our review page instead.

3. Homepage layout testing

We sometimes trial two versions of the homepage introduction to see which one people find clearer. To keep you on the same version between visits, we store a first-party cookie named erl-exp- for 90 days. It holds only the name of the version you were shown. It does not identify you, is not shared with anyone, and is not used for advertising. Clearing your browser cookies removes it.

4. Page analytics — no cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics to record anonymous page views (the path you visited, the referring site if any, approximate location, and browser or device type). It does not set cookies, does not identify you, and is not used for advertising. Checkout payment tokens and similar query parameters are stripped before a page view is sent. This is not gated by the optional-cookie banner, because no optional cookies are involved. See our Privacy Policy for how Vercel processes this data.

5. Changing your choice

Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page to change your decision at any time. If you switch from accept to reject, we stop loading Trustpilot immediately; anything Trustpilot already stored in your browser is controlled by them, so you may also want to clear cookies for trustpilot.com in your browser settings. Reloading the page fully removes the loaded widget code.
