Frequently asked questions
Ordering, UK dispatch, documentation, and who these materials are for.
Research use & eligibility
- Who can order from Edinburgh Peptides?
- We supply qualified laboratories, academic institutions, and authorised research purchasers in the UK. You must be 18+ and confirm research-only use at checkout.
- Are these products medicines?
- No. All catalogue items are research materials only. They are not licensed medicines and must not be used in humans or animals.
- What does RUO mean?
- RUO stands for Research Use Only. It indicates the product is intended exclusively for laboratory research and not for diagnostic, therapeutic, or consumption purposes.
- Why is your catalogue smaller than other suppliers?
- We prioritise documentation, reliable stock, and materials we can stand behind — not catalogue size. If we cannot document it properly, it does not go on the list.
Ordering & payment
- How do I place an order?
- Add what you need from the catalogue and check out with Pay by Bank from your UK banking app. If anything is unclear, WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us.
- Is Pay by Bank safe?
- Pay by Bank runs on UK open banking through our payment provider, Fena. You approve the payment in your own banking app using the same login or biometrics your bank already uses — we never see or store card details or banking credentials, and funds transfer account-to-account once you authorise them.
- Can I use a discount code?
- Yes. A launch offer of 15% off uses the code LAUNCH15 until 31 August 2026. It is offered when you first enter the site, and you can also enter it on the basket or checkout page. A valid code comes off the subtotal before you pay.
Quality & documentation
- Do you provide COAs and SDS documents?
- Yes. Batch-specific Certificates of Analysis are available for fulfilled orders. Safety Data Sheets are available on request. Send us your order reference if you need documents after dispatch. How documentation works →
Shipping & returns
- What are your shipping timelines?
- UK orders placed and paid before 17:00 on a business day (Monday–Friday) dispatch the same day. Free Royal Mail 1st class tracked on UK orders. Orders after the cut-off dispatch the next business day. Shipping and returns →
- How do I return an item or report a delivery problem?
- Raise a query on the contact form with your order reference and what you need, and we will get in touch with the next steps. Sealed-item cancellations must be requested within 14 days of delivery, with the vial seal or cap still intact. Damaged, wrong, or lost parcels can be reported at any time. To make sure your return reaches the right place, please wait for our return instructions before posting — this does not affect your statutory rights. Go to the contact form →
